I always wonder why Friends ended at season 10. But then I think of the greatest rules in stand up comedy: Always leave an audience while they are laughing! This is unfortunately a rule Grey's needs to adopt.
This season felt strained, dragged out and uninteresting. Even leading star Christina Yang (played by Sandra Oh) jumped ship! I love Shondaland and all her success, however I can't help but feel that Grey's has became the neglected child in the corner in favour of more popular sister, Scandal.
I would love to tell you what happened this season if it wasn't so forgettable. There was cheating (in Callie and Arizona's relationship or Calizona as they are known.), Returning faces (Isian Washington with his tail between his legs), Disappointment (after Christina lost Avery award) and ultimate Departures (by Miss Yang herself). However this is just like every other Grey's anatomy season except there would be more deaths, tears and gripping moments. It looks like the ratings felt the same way with the last episode being the lowest watched season finale in Grey's 10 year run.
I hope next season gets its act together. With the original cast signing on for two more season, I doubt Grey's will stretch past 2016. Dear Shonda, please let the next two count!
