Diamond Jubilee
This week all eyes were on Britian for the celebration of the 60 year reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The eventful Jubilee was celebrated over a 4 day period with a series of events including a river Thames pageant, Jubilee concert outside Buckingham Palace with musical greats (bar the tone-deaf Cheryl duet) and a concluding Jubilee service at St Paul's cathedral. In addition to the celebration of her Majesty's long reign (second longest of any british monarch, after Queen Victoria), we documented the gorgeous ensembles of the royal family.
The standout was Kate's attention grabbing red ensemble by her designer du Jour Alexander McQueen dress coupled with her staple nude heels (below). All in all, the extended bank holiday period showed the rest of the world the typical British traditions: the unpredictable weather, a good knees up and patriotism to our royal family. Long live the Queen!
Surprising Engagements to Glamourous Weddings
Congrats to both Matthew McConaughey and Drew Barrymore on their recent nuptuals. McConaugher and baby-mama Camila Alves got hitched in their hollywood home, while pregnant Barrymore married Wil Kopelman in front of celebs guests including Cameron Diaz and Jimmy Fallon in classic Chanel. On another note, we hear that Miley Cyrus, 19 got engaged to actor boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. Read what I think in the previous post.
Mime my Name, Baby
Cheryl Cole has denied that she mimed on The Voice performance the week before, but given her duet at the diamond Jubilee concert and performance at the Capital FM Summertime Ball (below), its probably best that she keeps that backing track. Recently, she told the press that she want to be known mononomously as "Cheryl", following the footsteps of Beyonce, Rihanna or even Madonna. But lets be honest, she ain't no Beyonce! She's not even close to the level of the half hearted performances of Rihanna. So for the time being, I will keep referring her to Cheryl Cole!![]() |
| Even that trainwreck of an outfit can't distract us from that voice! |
