Miley Cyrus Engaged!....At what Age is too young?

This week it was announced that Disney Darling turned untamed diva Miley Cyrus got engaged to on-off boyfriend of 3 years, 22 year old Hunger Games Actor Liam Hemsworth. Now at 19 years old, many have questioned whether she is just too young to jump into this commitment. Marriages in Hollywood used to be joyous occasions, now celebs are lucky if their nuptials can make it past a year...and that's not even mentioning young Hollywood! 

Perhaps Miley and Liam can look at the countless examples of young love turned wrong from Jessica Simpson, Britney, even Kim Kardashian (well the latter should be deemed invalid given the 72 day disaster known as her second marriage!). At 19 years old, I still couldn't decide what I wanted to cook for dinner each night, yet alone decide on the man I want to spend the rest of my life with! Yes Miley has seem to matured in front of our eyes from Disney Darling to Sexy Siren but that still doesn't exempt her from the life stages of normal people. In our teens and into our our early 20s we are still developing, trying to forge our identity and learn about oneself. There's nothing wrong with being in a committed relationship but MARRIAGE, really??? My biggest question is where are the parents in all of this?? Though we haven't heard anything official from father Billy Ray Cyrus,  his  silence  could seem like acceptance and encouragement towards the situation. Even Kelly Preston tweeted her congrats to "second daughter" Miley. No matter what, this sort of commitment needs to be taken seriously and looking at Liam and Miley's rocky on-off relationship over the past three years, marriage cannot be taken likely.

This could, however, be another type of affirmation to prove to the world that she is not Hannah Montana anymore. But hello, we already know she's graduated from Disney with her many publicity stunts from grinding on her 44-year old Last Song producer Adam Shankman , risque (but quite sexy) outfits on the red carpet and do I need to raise the whole Bong incident.

All in all, it seems that Miley has grown up into a mature young woman and with her 3.5 carat sparkler we are sure she and Liam are very much in love. Whatever happens, let's just hope they wait a while before walking done the aisle. And that's my truth!
