Two years ago, I would say they we're a dream. Today in 2014, they are a celebrity nightmare. The latest nude leaks moved from scandalous snaps to a breach of national security. In respect of the victims (Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton among others), I have decided to not post the nudes however they are plasted all over twitter. Just don't tweet #JLaw!
Gone are the days when nude photos ignited a celeb's career (*cough Kim K cough*). It has now become a unorthodox rite of passage! There is no reason why this leak occurred apart from a tactical attack against the showbiz elite. It is rumoured that the leak was due to 'phishing', an attempt to retrieve passwords and sensitive information by tricking users to volunteer their personal information. In this case, anonymous hackers attempted to break into the Apple iCloud accounts of many of your favourite celebrities!
Although Apple denies their involvement to the data leak, it still raises concerns on the extent we protect our data storage and who ultimately has access to our personal information. So to prevent this from happening, make sure you back up all photos on your computer or better yet just don't use your phone. Remember a good old Polaroid - something that Joey uses to watch his naked friends while eating fried chicken. I can't resist a good old Friends' reference.
So the moral of the story is ....Just be safe, not sorry!
Love
